CIERCO’s objective in establishing the CADEMO project is to generate knowledge and experience to:
It provides an opportunity for the local supply chain, infrastructure and workforce to build the necessary investment, capacity and learning at a manageable rate in advance of large scale deployment
Provides an opportunity to understand the required environmental and administrative processes on a “small” scale development.
The CADEMO project will provide direct economic and employment benefits, whilst improving the local grid stability and giving California an opportunity to establish itself as a global center for floating offshore wind
Offers a unique opportunity for industry and academia to promote educational research, learning and understanding in a wide range of technical fields (e.g. environment, engineering, economics, materials, industrialization, etc)
CADEMO will provide an opportunity to understand floating offshore wind interactions with existing maritime uses before the roll out of larger scale commercial deployment. In doing so, it is hoped that practical solutions can be found not only to address these issues, but also to potentially enhance the local environment and / or maritime resource for other users.
CADEMO will provide a platform to understand floating offshore wind interactions with the Californian natural environment before the roll out of larger scale commercial deployment.
